OFFICE MANAGER (1.00 FTE; exempt) POSTED: 9/16/2014
PURPOSE: To provide full-time administrative support for advocacy, fundraising, organizing, and communication efforts of the Joint Religious Legislative Coalition (JRLC).

RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsibilities will be derived from a work plan developed with the JRLC Executive Director. Areas of responsibility include:

Advocacy and Organizing
Perform outreach, turnout, information tracking, and communication efforts, especially during legislative session;

Manage registration process and records for Day on the Hill;

Maintain office supplies and materials;

Plan logistics of JRLC meetings, including registration, facilities, food, nametags, materials;

Reply to general email, phone, and correspondence queries;

Provide logistical support and produce minutes for meetings of the JRLC Board and iCAN Advisory Council.

Fundraising
Maintain impeccable fundraising and donor records to track donors and support fundraising activities;

Maintain standard forms and grant proposal components (e.g., IRS letter, budget, etc);

Manage income transmittal to Minnesota Council of Churches;

Manage prompt gift acknowledgments;

Maintain grant records, including proposals submitted, acknowledgement of grants, report due dates, and reports.

Communications
Manage and update accurate contact lists;

Update and coordinate web-site activities and social media postings;

Edit and manage distribution of press releases, build relations with religious media;

Update website content;

Coordinate production of print materials as assigned.

ACCOUNTABILITY: Accountable to the JRLC Executive Director with some delegated supervision by JRLC Statewide Organizer.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Associate's degree plus six years of related experience, or Bachelor's degree with two years of related experience.
Administrative aptitude: good follow through with details, willingness to take initiative.
Organized and detail oriented.
Proven ability to use personal computer and related software including database, web content editor, e-newsletters, word processing, spreadsheet, desktop publishing, and social media.
Demonstrated skills in problem solving.
Willingness to work longer hours during legislative session.
Ability to work in a collegial style with flexibility, creativity, and good humor.
Occasional weekend, evening hours and in-state travel. Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle helpful.

COMPENSATION:
Beginning annual salary of $30,000 to $32,000. Health, dental, pension, disability, vacation, and holiday benefits as provided by the JRLC/Minnesota Council of Churches human resources policy.

Membership and Sponsorship Campaigns
Issue Campaigns

Event Planning and Management
