Meet a Board Member: Dr. Fatma Reda

This post is another installment of our "Meet a Board Member" blog series. As a way for our network to get to know the JRLC leadership better, we will be regularly posting a piece written by one of our Board Members that describes why they are dedicated to the work of JRLC.

Meet Dr. Fatma Reda, is a Psychiatrist by profession and an active member of the Islamic Center of Minnesota.

Faith is that which resides in the heart and is made true through deeds": A famous Hadeeth by Mohammad, the last Semitic Prophet. In it is a concise summation of Islam's ethos: The certitude in the presence of One Creator, who endowed us, humans with the capacity to discern, coupled with the mandate to act on the choices He blessed us with the ability to make.

As a Muslim, to be given the opportunity to exercise Muhammad's teaching, is indeed a great honor; to do it in the company of people of faith, who are committed to pursuing the teachings of their faiths in a viable, dynamic, and effective manner, is truly a blessing.

Thank you JRLC for including me in your long-running campaign for social justice, for giving voice to the voiceless...
