Children are great imitators. So give them something great to imitate.

Day on the Hill was a Success!
Last Thursday about 750 people participated in JRLC and iCAN's Day on the Hill.  Advocates from around the state spoke with their legislators about maintaining our state's safety net programs, ending poverty in Minnesota, maintaining an impartial judiciary, and raising state revenue to support families and people in need.

Specifically around children's issues, we advocated that our state must ensure that families are able to earn a livable wage, and have safe and stable housing and communities so as to provide a strong foundation for children.  We also encouraged legislators to fully fund childcare assistance programs and support the Working Family Credit.

Please stay tuned the rest of session to learn how you can continue to act and advocate on these important issues.

Congratulations again to Eunice Eckerly, from Trinity Lutheran Congregation in Minneapolis who was recognized at Day on the Hill as our Key Advocate of the Year.  Eunice has always been a tireless advocate for children and an iCAN Key Advocate for over seven years.  Thank you Eunice for all your hard work!

There is still time to order materials!  If you would like to place an order for informational materials, Blue Ribbon Stickers and Parenting Survival Tip Cards, please email Rachel at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
